We are planning our first disney trip for august 2017. We are eating at Chef Mickeys at 12:05pm on 8/29 and plan on spending the day at magic kingdom - what is the best best way to get to Chef Mickeys from Magic Kingdom? How much time do we need to a lot

    Hi Amy,

How exciting that you are planning your first Walt Disney World vacation! Pairing Chef Mickey's with a day at Magic Kingdom is perfect, whether it's your first or your 50th visit.

Chef Mickey's is in the Contemporary, adjacent to the park. You can take the resort monorail there (it's the first stop from Magic Kingdom) or you can walk along the brick sidewalk to the resort. My family usually chooses to walk since it takes only about 10 minutes and is generally faster than the monorail.

If you spend the morning at Magic Kingdom, I would plan to be at the front exit by about 11:30 to give yourself time to get to the restaurant without rushing. Once you've eaten lunch with Chef Mickey and friends, you can take the quick walk back to Magic Kingdom and resume your fun there. If you take the monorail, you will stop first at the Transportation and Ticket Center, the Polynesian Village Resort and the Grand Floridian before reaching Magic Kingdom.

Since it's your first visit, Amy, you may want to check out the free Walt Disney World planning videos on the Disney website. Or see the Disney Parks Moms Panel videos that have tips for visiting Walt Disney World.
