We are planning our first Disney trip in Aug. and would like to go to try Sci-Fi Dine In Theater. Is this outside or inside eating? Should we make a reservation? Thank You for all the help!

    Hello Teresa,

The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is an indoor restaurant at Disney's Hollywood Studios, but through its theming tries to recreate a drive-in theater from the 1950s and 1960s. And I have to tell you, it is an absolute favorite with my family.  The majority of the seating allows guests to sit in "cars" and watch campy old black/white movie clips.  It is a hoot!

What makes it an extra special treat is that it is a great escape from the heat and wonderfully peaceful as guests are watching the movies.  My husband and I always refer to the restaurant as our "date night spot" since our children sit in the front seats of the cars and we get to sit in the back seat together.  Even though they know the movie clips, they are still mesmerized and enjoy themselves.  I'll admit the food isn't really anything special, but it is the experience of it that makes it memorable.

If you visit Youtube.com and do a search for the restaurant, you can see more of what it looks like.

You will want to make a reservation online or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.  If you can't find an opening for lunch/dinner, consider eating at an off-time such as mid-afternoon.

I highly recommend the restaurant; great spot to experience something new!

Please let us know if we can help again; we all know how overwhelming it can be to plan a first trip to WDW.
