    I am planning my first Disney Princess Half Marathon 2/2016. My husband, 3yr son & 5 yr daughter as chEARleaders. Which spectator package level would be best for them? How We're veteran disney-goers, but rundisney rookies! Thanks!

    Like you, before I had runDisney-cations, I had Walt Disney World® vacations, so I understand the feeling like you're at square one with planning. I'm here to help! 

    When it comes to selecting the right ChEAR Squad Package for your family, there are a few things to consider: 

    • If your family will be joining you on race-morning when you head to the Start Zone Area it will make for a long day for your prince & princess - I would go with the Platinum Package so your family is able to use the Race Retreat Tent as needed. Your husband will be able to keep them feed and entertained with the character greetings and available buffet. The Kiddie Corner will also be showing Disney movies to help with all the little ones. But, if your husband heads to the finish line at 7:30am (transportation will cease between 5:00am - 7:30am) then the Gold package would be all you need. 

    • Your anticipated finish time will also play a factor. For example, if you are confidant you will finish in 2 hours or under, your family won't make it to the finish line in time to see your big moment because of the transportation hold between 5:00am and 7:30am. In that case, the Platinum Package wins due to your husband needing to head over to the finish line before 5:00am.

    • Weather is another factor. It's hard to guess what it will do in February - I've run the Princess in the cold, in high temps, and in humidity that made it feel like hot, pea-soup. If there is any inclement weather, your family would be able to seek refuge in the Race Retreat at anytime with the Platinum Package.  

    Overall, the Platinum Package will not only allow for you to enjoy the race, as you won't be as worried, but your family will have a more enjoyable spectator experience.
