Hi there, Michael! Welcome back to planDisney. I'm so thrilled to hear that after years of park visits, you are about to set sail with Disney Cruise Line. It's going to be one magical vacation!
I'm happy you cruised our way with your question so you know what to expect for your
Port Adventure options. When it comes to the age restrictions for Port Adventures, Disney Cruise Line is strict. The 13-year-old in your party will not be able to participate in this particular experience.
I'm sorry if this is not what you were wanting to hear, Michael. I do hope that you find an alternative option that works for your sailing crew. As the teen in your group is 13, she is at the perfect age to take part in both the tween and teen areas on the ship.
Edge is the hangout space for cruisers ages 11-14 and
Vibe is intended for cruisers between the ages of 14-17. If the 13-year-old in your party is interested in spending time in Vibe, she is welcome to do so with a consent form signed by a guardian. Have her guardian visit the Vibe with her and speak with counselors onboard if she is interested in this option.
While you aren't out and about exploring the ports of call, there will be plenty to do on the ship. You can prepare for your sailing by downloading the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. From home, you can use the app to plan for your voyage, but once you are on the ship, you'll have access to the full Daily Activity Schedule. I recommend that you click the heart icon next to any activities that pique your interest. If you allow the app to send you notifications, the app will send reminders when it is time for those activities to begin. It's a good idea to check out the activities on the ship early on in your cruise. If you love what you take part in, there may be another chance to experience it again during your Disney Cruise!
Please sail back if you have any more questions about what to expect on your voyage. My panelist pals and I are so happy to help.
Happy Planning,
Adrianna
