We are planning our first Disney Cruise but we are wondering what the best way is to get to Port Canaveral from WDW and back to WDW from the port? We will be staying on property for three days before the cruise and three days after the cruise.

    Hi Jennifer,

Welcome back to planDisney! It is always so great to see Guests like you return over the years, whether you’re refreshing your memory on something familiar, looking for what’s new, or getting advice on an entirely new experience. Thank you for trusting us to help you plan this incredible trip.

What you’re planning is what we like to call a Land and Sea Vacation, and I can’t think of a better way to combine all the magic of Walt Disney World Resort with the relaxation and fun of a Disney Cruise Line sailing. In fact, my own family is about to embark on a similar trip this holiday season. We’ll start with a couple of days at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, enjoy Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and then head out for a Very Merrytime Cruise aboard the Disney Fantasy. We’re counting down the days!

When it comes to getting from your Disney Resorts Collection hotel to Port Canaveral and back again, you have several options. Still, the easiest by far is to let Disney handle it through Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation. Currently, and subject to change, the cost is $45 per Guest each way ($90 round trip, per Guest), and it’s an incredibly seamless experience. A motorcoach will pick you up directly from your resort on the morning of your sailing, deliver your luggage to your stateroom, and drop you off at the cruise terminal. When your sailing ends, they’ll bring you right back to your resort for the next part of your vacation. I just arranged this transportation for my upcoming trip with a Disney Cruise Line agent, and it was quick and easy. You can call Disney Cruise Line directly to add this service to your reservation.

Jennifer, I hope this helps you finalize your transportation plans so you can focus on the fun ahead. If you’d like help planning the days before or after your cruise, send another question my way. I’d be happy to share tips and recommendations to make your Land and Sea vacation unforgettable.

    Bon voyage,
    Brent
