Ahoy Oralia and welcome to planDisney! How exciting to be embarking on an adventure on the high seas aboard
Disney Cruise Line! It was not too long ago that my family had its first sailing with DCL aboard the
Disney Wish and we keep coming back for more. Now, let’s dive into your question on the luggage policy so you can finish packing and get back to planning for all the fun you and your family will have!
Currently, the luggage allowance is 2 per person and 1 carry-on luggage and a personal item. Be mindful that if your entire travel party is staying in the same stateroom that all the luggage must fit within your stateroom. I haven’t had any problems putting my checked luggage underneath the bed, but you may want to mindful of any extra luggage and how that may affect your space in your stateroom. You should receive
luggage tags in the mail prior to your sailing. As for the carry-on luggage, those cannot exceed dimensions of 22” x 14” x 9” so that it can safely pass through security scanners at the port.
Oralia, here’s a bonus tip! Disney Cruise Line offers
packing lists based on your itinerary. I highly suggest looking at these to give you a sense of what to pack in your carry-on and how to plan for the weather and various activities on board. Some of my must-haves on every Disney cruise include: an insulated water bottle, medication, and a sweater or sweatshirt (because even if you’re going somewhere tropical the dining rooms and indoor spaces can get cold from the air-conditioning!).
Oralia, I’m hoping you have the best time on your Disney Cruise! From the
rotational dining to the
live entertainment and top-notch service, I’m sure you’ll enjoy being immersed in the Disney magic at sea. If you have any further questions about your upcoming cruise, feel free to
contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
