Ahoy, Dakota!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You must be getting so excited for your upcoming inaugural voyage with Captain Mickey! You're going to love sailing aboard Disney Cruise Line. I love traveling to different ports of call via a cruise ship filled with Disney magic!
You're asking some great questions. Whenever possible, my family tries to fly to whichever port we're sailing out of at least one day before embarkation. This is by no means mandatory, but it gives me peace of mind knowing we have a cushion of extra time to make it to our ship in case our flight is delayed. I see that you're from the midwest, too! If you're planning on setting sail during the winter months, I recommend flying out one day before your Disney Cruise just in case your flight is delayed due to a snow storm or inclement weather.
Whether we're flying in the morning of embarkation or a day (or two...or three haha!) beforehand and staying at a
Walt Disney World Resort hotel, we always choose to take
Disney Cruise Line's Ground Transportation to the Cruise Terminal. I love watching the fun cartoons, Disney Trivia and informational videos about our Disney Cruise while riding in the motor coach; however, what I love most about taking Disney Cruise Line's Ground Transportation is that our luggage "magically" appears outside of our stateroom!
Dakota, I hope I was able to help you with your planning for your first Disney Cruise! Please don't hesitate to sail back and visit us again!
