We're planning our first DC for July 2012. Mom's panel is great. I know I can get the answers I seek. For the onboard account, can you use a debit card? Or a credit card only? Are any funds "held" on said card at embarkment as security? If so, h

    Hi, LaDonna!

Congratulations on your first Disney cruise next summer and thanks for the sweet compliment!  We enjoy answering questions of fellow guests -- and my specialty is the sea-faring ones.

Yes, you can use a debit card for your shipboard account through Guest Services, and there will be no deposit held.  Your cruise will be paid in full, and the only charges which may appear right away on your shipboard account are for previously booked Port Adventures, adult dining, spa appointments or nursery reservations.  You can always obtain a print out or discuss charges at Guest Services while on board.

I hope this has helped, and please let me know if I can answer anything else for you. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
