We are planning our first cruise on the Dream, sailing March 14th 2015! I understand that dinner is assigned by rotation. How does lunch work if you decide to stay on the ship on port day or during sea day? Are you able to eat a sit down meal for lunch?

    Welcome aboard, Kristi!

I'm so glad to hear that you'll be sailing with Captain Mickey for the very first time. You and your whole family will surely be introduced to a different way of vacationing -- so be ready for all the fun and excitement!

Dining choices onboard are plentiful for everyone in the family. For breakfast and lunch on port days or sea days, be sure to check the Personal Navigator to confirm which restaurants are open on any given day. At least 1 of the 3 main dining restaurants will usually be open to serve a sit down lunch. You can also go upstairs to Cabanas for a great selection of food at the buffet. If you don't want to leave your stateroom, you can always choose to order something from the complimentary 24-hour room service... make sure you ask for some Mickey Bars :-). And if you find yourselves lounging by the pool deck, the quick service meal stations are always happy to serve up some lunch too.

Have a splashtacular vacation, Kristi! If you have any other questions as you prepare for your voyage, please do come back and log another question. We're always happy to help!

    Happy holidays!
