We are planning our first blended family vacation in September- two adults, six kids (ages 4-10). With the size of our party, would you recommend choosing park days based on a crowd calendar or extra magic hours? We are not planning on using parkhoppers.

    Hello, Lauren!

Woo Hoo!  What a MAGICAL celebration it is going to be when your whole family arrives at the most MAGICAL place on earth!  Walt Disney World is the PERFECT place to celebrate your first blended family vacation!

As a family of seven, I totally understand your question.  From my experience, my family ALWAYS chooses our Disney Park days based on Extra Magic Hours. I would rather take my chances on having more time in a Disney Park than leave it up to a crowd calendar that may or may not be correct.

DISNEY PARK TIP: Arrive at the Disney Parks about 20 minutes before they open! The crowds are the lowest in the mornings, and your family will be able to ride many of their favorite Disney attractions before the big crowds start showing up about 90 minutes after a Disney Park opens.

I also agree with your decision on not purchasing the Disney Park Hopper Option for your family. As you know, it can be a "circus" transporting kids under the age of ten. The amount of time it would take you to travel with eight people from one Disney Theme Park to the next could take you over an hour. I always suggest families with small children to stay and enjoy the whole day in one Disney Theme Park.  I promise you will save yourself a ton of stress and valuable time!

If you have other questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
