We are planning our first big family vacation in early November and I was told that since this will be everyones first visit to Disneyland that we need to stop by guest services when we enter and we can receive first time buttons is this true?

Hey Barbara! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your first visit to the Disneyland Resort? I can’t think of anything more magical than that.

I remember my son’s first visit to Disneyland Park for his 2nd birthday just like it was yesterday. It’s a memory that I hold dear to my heart and the reason why we keep going back again and again. I actually recorded his reaction on video when we first walked into the park and down Main Street U.S.A. I get teary eyed just thinking about it. He’s now 8 years old and we’ve made so many memories since then. I can’t imagine the memories and fun you will create for your big family vacation. Just like you mentioned, we stopped by City Hall at Disneyland Park and got my son a complimentary 1st visit button. I’ve learned a few tricks since then and you can actually get them at other places in the Disneyland Resort. Depending on the time of day, the line at City Hall may be longer than you want to wait. If you are staying at one of the three wonderful hotels at the Disneyland Resort, you can ask for some at check in. My favorite spot is to ask for one at the park entrance turnstiles. That way you're walking in, ready to celebrate and no waiting in line!

If there’s one thing I can really recommend for your first visit, is to make sure you take advantage of the PhotoPass photographers in the parks. In order to take your photos with you for a lifetime of memories, you can either purchase individual downloads, get unlimited downloads for the days you purchase MaxPass or purchase PhotoPass+ which will give you unlimited downloads for photos that were captured for 7 consecutive days of your trip.

From all of the panelists here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, we hope you have the most wonderful time at the “Happiest Place on Earth!” Be sure to stop by with any more questions for your trip!

Remember, always believe in the magic!
