Planning our first adult trip to WDW just my partner and I! So excited but overwhelmed with planning such a big 2 week trip. Looking for a resort close to parks but also where we can relax when we just want to lay by a pool! Would love some recommendations

Hi Michaela, and welcome to planDisney!

I remember my first adult Walt Disney World Resort vacation! It was just myself and my husband in the early days of our marriage, and we LOVED our stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter; it was so peaceful, and we had a lovely water view; it was perfect. Of course, since then, we have had other adult-only adventures, but our very first trip holds a special place in my heart.

Finding the perfect resort for your two-week stay is key and the foundation of your upcoming vacation. Please allow me to recommend a few of my favorite resorts:

Disney's Pop Century Resort is the way to go if you want value and amenities such as access to the Disney Skyliner, fun-themed rooms, and multiple pools to relax.

If you want a moderate stay that provides seclusion in a peaceful environment with fun pools, shopping, and proximity to Magic Kingdom Park, check out The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. I know what you might be thinking, but the cabins are beautiful inside and out. The cabins provide plenty of space for just the two of you and boast a full kitchen if you want to cook a meal or two together. Another moderate choice is my first Disney Resort love, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. It is also peaceful, and having access to the Doubloon Lagoon pool makes this a great choice as well. In addition, for a fee, you can enjoy the Beignet Fun Run, where you get rewarded with Beignets and a medal (now that is my kind of race). There is also a fun activity that you can do that involves painting; Painting on de' Bayou, where you will paint a Disney-inspired picture in an instructor-led paint class at Sassagoula Floatworks. This painting will make a fun souvenir to take home to have a beautiful memory of your trip. You can also hop on the available Disney Water Transportation and spend time at Disney Springs.

If you are looking for more deluxe accommodations, Disney's Old Key West Resort is a true winner. Not only are the rooms spacious, but the grounds are perfectly manicured, and if you have access to a car, you can park right in front of your room, which comes in handy after a long day at the parks and shopping. During your stay, you can rent bikes, and just like at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, the Disney Water Transportation is available to take you to Disney Springs.

No matter where you choose to stay, you will make memories that will last a lifetime! We would love to answer any additional questions you may have prior to your arrival; just let us know how we can help.

Have the most magical FIRST adult vacation!
