We are planning to see the Fantasmic show on our first night; would you recommend to get the dinner package? If so, which restaurant is good and child friendly. I am traveling with a 2 year old. Thanks for your help.

Hi, Jan!  Especially during very busy times of the year, I think the Fantasmic Dinner Package is a great idea.   You get to eat in a nice restaurant, and get to see Fantasmic with less waiting as compared to the stand-by line.

You have 3 restaurants to choose from with this package:  Brown Derby, Mama Melrose, or Hollywood & Vine.   (Brown Derby counts as 2 table service meals if you are on the Disney Dining Plan.)   Of the 3, I recommend Hollywood & Vine.  It is the least expensive of the 3, and the only one that is a buffet.   With a 2 year old, this will probably make your dinner a bit nicer with not having to wait for your meals to come!   (With kids, I am all about speed!)

For a great overview of the Fantasmic DInner Package, go to www.allears.net, select DINING across the top, and choose Fantasmic Dinner Package on the left side of the page.  I think you will find this to be a helpful page to read.

To make reservations for this or any other dining, call (407)WDW-DINE.  Have a great vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
