I am planning my family's fist WDW trip for Late February early march 2013. We are looking at the moderate resorts and would like to know which would you recommend for girls, 5 & 6 yrs & how long is the bus ride to MK and the other parks?

First trips are perfectly pixie-dusted, Michelle.  Congratulations!  As for a resort recommendation, I am happy to offer my opinion.  My personal favorite in the way of moderate resorts is Port Orleans Riverside.  My family of six adores the quiet country charm, the gorgeous grounds, and the plethora of recreational opportunities.  Your girls will probably love the main pool, as my kids do!  You also will have the option of renting a surrey bike or watercraft.  If that doesn't float your boat (pun intended!) you could spend a morning at the fishin' hole or walk to Riverside's sister resort, Port Orleans French Quarter for a breakfast treat of beignets.  You should expect the bus ride from Port Orleans Riverside to either the Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios to take right around 15 minutes, while the trip to Animal Kingdom or Epcot will take closer to 25 minutes.  Have a great time!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
