I am planning my family's first WDW vacation for october 2013. The traveling party consists of myself, my husband, four children ages 7,13,14,17 , my sister and my mother. Would it bebetterto stay in a villa and cook for ourselves or a hotel w/ dining plan

    Hi there Chris!

While I absolutely LOVE the Disney Dining Plans there is just something really nice about having a full kitchen! Either option you choose is a great way to save money on the expense of food during your vacation. Therefore, I would recommend that you look at your theme park touring plans and determine how often you'll likely be in your villa in order to prepare meals. If you're going to hit the ground running every morning and do not plan to return to your resort until late into the evening then, definitely the dining plan is the best choice. If you plan to take mid-day breaks for a swim, nap and to prepare lunch then you'll surely get your monies worth out of a stay at a Disney Deluxe Villa.

Be sure to pay close attention to the Special Offers section of the Walt Disney World website nearer to your travel dates as a discount on your resort room or a FREE dining plan deal may just help you decide which choice makes the most sense economically.

Thanks so much for stopping by and asking a question! Wishing you a pixie-dusted 2013 trip!
