Hi there, I am planning my family's first trip to WDW in the Spring of 2010 - 2 adults and 3 kids (8,6,3). What resorts accomodate comfortable sleeping arrangements for 5 with a great pool for the kids without breaking the bank? Many thanks!

Hi Cara!  Over the past year I have grown quite fond of the cabins in Fort Wilderness.  They could easily accommodate your family size and they each come with a full kitchen making this a nice family room situation where you can save money on some of the meals.  You receive daily maid service as you would in any other resort and have two televisions, DVD player, and computer access.  You can read more about this option as well as others for a family of five by clicking HERE.

Fort Wilderness has two pools and the largest one was just refurbished.  It has a nice slide (I tried it out on the last visit) and a new splash area for the smaller ones to safely play in.

There are countless other activities at the "Fort" that include horseback riding, pony rides, carriage rides, archery, canoeing and kayaking, boat rentals, bike rentals, fishing, and nightly campfire and sing-a-longs. This is also the location for two great shows, the Hoop De Doo Revue and the Mickey's Backyard Barbecue.

All who stay at Fort Wilderness are amazed at its quiet and peacefulness.  They have a complete bus and boat transportation system as all other resorts have and it includes an internal bus system that allows you to get around this large area with ease.
