We are planning a family vacation in September and want to purchase memory maker. If I pre-purchase it on Saturday when I arrive and our first park day isn't till Monday will I get all my photos starting on Monday till we leave the following Sunday?

Hi Kaylin, and welcome to planDisney! We’re so glad you stopped by with your question. I love Memory Maker and have purchased it for all of my recent vacations, so I’ve got you covered on this one! I absolutely love the beautiful photos taken by Disney’s PhotoPass photographers, so Memory Maker is an easy choice for me. The vacation memories captured in those photos are priceless!

One of the first important details I want to be sure you know is that, by purchasing your Memory Maker at least three days in advance, you will save $25 off the regular price (subject to change). You mentioned that you plan to purchase it on Saturday ahead of your first park day on Monday, but I recommend buying it on Friday to ensure you get that discounted price. Once you’ve added it to My Disney Experience, it will be ready to activate once you starting taking photos.

Now here are the important details for how to make sure you receive all of your Disney PhotoPass media. After you take your first PhotoPass photos, go to My Disney Experience and scroll down to the Photo Gallery. Click on the very first photo in the gallery, and then click download. When you do this, it will prompt you to activate your Memory Maker. From then forward, you will be able to download all PhotoPass media taken for the next 30 days. Be sure to download them all when you return home from your vacation because they are only available for 45 days from the date they are taken. If you forget to activate your Memory Maker early in your vacation, don't worry! You can still download all of your vacation memories as long as you click on that first photo to activate it. The 30 days of eligibility will start from the date the photo you activate was taken.

I hope this gives you a snapshot of how to use your Memory Maker! You are going to love your vacation photos! Be sure to take a few minutes to stop when you see PhotoPass photographers stationed throughout the four theme parks and get as many photos as you can in different locations to get the most out of your Memory Maker. Some spots that I never would have chosen on my own turn out to be my favorite vacation photos. The PhotoPass photographers truly know how to pick the best locations!

Thanks for stopping by to see us, Kaylin! If you have any more questions, come back and see me. I'm always here to help and love adding extra pixie dust to your Disney vacation planning!

    Magically,
    Casey
