I am planning a family vacation in March 2016 to celebrate my 30th birthday! Our kids will be 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 at the time of the vacation. Do you recommend us doing a park hopper pass or just dedicate one day to each park?

Autumn, what a great idea. I can not think of a better place on Earth to celebrate a special birthday. Do not forget to pick up your birthday button when you check into your hotel or at Guest Relations when you enter your first Park – and wear it proudly everywhere you go!

I strongly recommend the Park Hopper Option, as my family and I enjoy the flexibility of being able to visit each of the four Parks whenever we would like. We can start off the morning on safari at Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and end the day in Tokyo at Epcot watching IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. When my children were the same age as your little ones, we also would travel back to our hotel room mid-day so they could take a short nap and rest. With the Park Hopper Option, you do not have to go back to the same park you started your day with and can be a bit more spontaneous with your evening plans.

The Park Hopper Option also helps when it is time to make your Advanced Dining Reservations and FastPass+ selections. If you were able to get a fantastic dining reservation in the evening at Magic Kingdom Park and the FastPass+ selection of your dreams at Disney's Hollywood Studios for late morning - with the Park Hopper Option you can say 'YES' to both!

I hope I could offer some assistance in your decision making. Autumn, please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any other questions while planning this wonderful vacation for you and your family!

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
