We are planning a family vacation to Florida in late July and want go to Magic Kingdom for the day. However, we have a 4 month old. Anyone have experience with heat and little ones? All advice is welcome! We may get a room just to go and cool down too.

    Hi, there!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Elizabeth. I'm so glad you stopped by with this great question!

How wonderful that you'll be visiting Magic Kingdom Park while you're in Florida. You're sure to have a magical day! You can bet it will be a hot one, too. I'm happy to give you my best tips for keeping your little one cool and comfortable in the Orlando heat this summer:

    • Make sure you dress your baby lightly. Think loose cotton and no layers.
    • Take a stroller with you that has a good-sized shade. My City Mini Stroller features an extra-large canopy that keeps my little ones well-shaded and cool in that Florida sun. If your stroller doesn't have a canopy that's big enough to keep your baby completely shaded, attach a large muslin swaddle blanket that extends past the canopy so your little one is totally protected.
    • Purchase a small, battery-operated clip-on fan prior to your visit. If you attach it to the stroller, your baby will have a nice breeze under that canopy!
    • Pack a Frogg Toggs cooling towel in your diaper bag. Simply wet it with water, wring it out, and it will provide instant cooling relief for hours!
    • Stop by the Baby Care Center for diaper changes and feedings. The Baby Care Center is air-conditioned and provides a calm, quiet space for you and your little one to take a break.
    • Speaking of air-conditioning, most attractions, dining locations, and shops are nice and cool. Avoid the few that don't have air-conditioning!

I hope this was helpful, Elizabeth. Please let me know if you have any other questions about traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort with a little one in tow!
