Hiya, Debra! Welcome to planDisney!
It sounds like you’re planning a wonderful visit to
Walt Disney World Resort! I can definitely relate to your situation, Debra. I am also the planner in my family and regardless of who we are traveling with, I am always the keeper of the plans. And to be honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
As for the best time to book your accommodations, Debra, this depends entirely on when you prefer to travel and where you'd like to stay. Certain
Disney Resorts Collection hotels do tend to book up well in advance. The resorts near Magic Kingdom Park, such as Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, are very popular. The EPCOT area resorts, such as Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney's Beach Club Resort, and Disney's BoardWalk Inn, are also incredibly popular. But if you’re planning far enough in advance, you should be able to find availability for when you are hoping to travel. In my experience, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and Disney’s Old Key West Resort are typically some of the easier villas to book, and they also offer some of the most spacious rooms on property, which is great when you’re traveling with larger parties.
Personally, I find that the parks are the most magical during the Halloween season or the Holiday season. The Halloween season overlaps the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, which has delicious eats and sips at the Global Marketplaces across the park. There are also some fun offerings for the little ones, such as Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak. This is a themed scavenger hunt where you'll search for hidden Remy figures throughout the World Showcase. There’s also
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, held on select nights in August through October. It’s frightful fun for Guests of all ages!
The Holiday season, well, that is my personal favorite time of year to visit. There are holiday decorations all over the parks and resorts, and EPCOT will host the
International Festival of the Holidays. The Holiday Cookie Stroll is so much fun! Plus, Magic Kingdom Park hosts
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney’s Hollywood Studios hosts
Disney Jollywood Nights. Both are separately ticketed events held on select nights in November and December.
The good news is that you really can't go wrong, Debra. Every season brings something unique to Walt Disney World Resort, so the best time to visit really depends on what type of experience you're hoping to have. If you have any other questions as you continue to plan your visit, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us here at

See you real soon!
