Hi Dot,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!
I have some good news and some bad news about using your
MagicBand's charging privileges during your family's upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. While you can ensure that everyone's MagicBand is associated with a different credit card when they check in to their Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, even if members of your party are staying in the same room, you can't set a spending limit on an individual MagicBand. From what I understand, the spending limit that can be imposed has to be the one associated with the credit card that is on file.
For example, say that there are 4 family members staying in the same hotel room and all of their MagicBands are linked to the same credit card and the Resort spending limit linked to that card is $1000. You can't set an individual spending limit on those MagicBands; each person can spend as much as they want, up to a combined total of $1000.
Another alternative, one that I've used with great success in past visits to Walt Disney World Resort, is to get each member of your party a
Disney Gift Card and load their spending money onto it. It's a quick, easy and painless way to ensure that everyone sticks to their assigned budget, including the kids (who LOVE the autonomy of being able to manage their own spending money).
Should you have any other questions about your upcoming vacation, please don't hesitate to come back and see us.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
