I am planning a family vacation for 4d/3n. We are a family of 4 (2 adult and 2 children ages 10 & 2 ), but needing advice on the Dining plan. Worth it or not? Not usually big on breakfast. ANY advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Ashley!  I am excited to hear about your Walt Disney World vacation.  You all are going to have a magical time.

My family and I always use the Disney Dining Plan when we vacation at Walt Disney World.  It is my experience that my family saves a lot of money utilizing the plan.  With that said, it is what you make of it.  We eat at more expensive restaurants that we might not if paying for it out of pocket and typically order more expensive items.  We are not big breakfast eaters either.  What we typically do is bring some breakfast food to snack on while we are getting ready, use our Quick Service Credit for lunch, use our Snack Credit sometime throughout the day and then our Table Service Credit for dinner.  I think to make the Disney Dining Plan worth the money you must make dining reservations.  Dining reservations open up 180 in advance so you will want to pick your restaurants and plan accordingly.

If you are interested in the Disney Dining Plan some restaurants I would recommend looking into are 'Ohana for dinner, Tusker House for breakfast, Cape May Cafe for Dinner, Chef Mickey's, Le Cellier Steakhouse, Cinderella's Royal Table, California Grill and Be Our Guest.  Those are popular restaurants and some of my favorites.

I recommend giving the Disney Dining Plan a try but come hungry, it is a lot of food.  Happy Planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
