We are planning a family vacation from December 31st to January 10th 2013, what are the crowds like then and what is the weather like? thanks

I have good news and bad news, Marcia.  The crowd levels during the week of New Years are historically quite high.  The good news is that you can probably expect to see those crowds slowly start to diminish right around January 5th and 6th.  By Monday, January 7th, you will likely experience noticeably lower crowd levels that will be very tolerable.  As for weather, that can be kind of tricky.  I've visited during December and early January a couple of times.  During one such trip, we experienced really cold weather while the other was unseasonably warm.  Both times were relatively dry, though.  I would recommend keeping a close eye on the forecast as your trip approaches to see just what Mother Nature has in store for your vacation.  Good luck!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
