We are planning a family vacation. 3 adults, 1 senior cit. and two teenagers. I would like to know what do you believe to be the best resort to accomodate all of our needs (walking/easy access to the theme parks, easy access to/from airport, waterpark

    Hi Theresa!

I don't know if there is one single resort that stands out, but there are several.  For easy access to the theme parks, you'll want to stay in a Magic Kingdom Monorail Resort or at one of the Epcot Resorts on Crescent Lake.

The Magic Kingdom Monorail Resorts are the Grand Floridian, the Contemporary, and the Polynesian.  Guests staying at the Contemporary can walk to the Magic Kingdom.  Guests staying at the Polynesian have easy access to the Magic Kingdom via the monorail, and can walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center giving them easy access to the Epcot monorail line.

The Epcot Resorts on Crescent Lake are the Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Walt Disney World Swan, and Walt Disney World Dolphin.  The Swan and Dolphin are independently owned and operated hotels.  Guests staying at any of these hotels have easy access to both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios theme parks via either walking or boat service.  For example, the Beach Club is an easy 5 minute walk to Epcot, though it is about 20 minutes away from the Studios.

All of these resorts are Disney Deluxe Resorts and have a lot of services and amenities.  My recommendation would be to stay in the Polynesian for easy access to both the Magic Kingdom and  Epcot.  My second choice would be to stay at the Beach or Yacht Club.  That's because they have the best pool on property which might appeal to your teenagers.  It's has an amazing water slide and a sand bottom pool.

    Good luck with your decision!
