Welcome to planDisney, Min Jie!
Taking your little one to Walt Disney World Resort will be magical beyond measure. There’s nothing like seeing the joy in your toddler’s eyes when they meet
Mickey Mouse for the first time or watch nighttime spectaculars like
Fantasmic! My boys have frequently visited the theme parks since they were infants, so I’m just the gal to answer your question!
For
Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane options, because your child doesn’t need a theme park ticket, they do not need to be included in these Lightning Lane purchases. This Kanga loves hopping past the standby queue with her little Roos. Keep in mind that your 2-year-old child may not be tall enough to ride the current Individual Lightning Lane attractions, like
Avatar Flight of Passage and
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This means that your kiddo would not be able to wait in the queue with you. I strongly recommend that you utilize Rider Switch. I break down
how Rider Switch works in an answer to another Mouseketeer.
However, you’ll definitely want to include your little one in your advance dining reservations, especially if they sit on their own. This will help the restaurant accurately make seating arrangements. When you arrive at the restaurant, specify with the Cast Member or select the option in
Mobile Check-In that your kiddo is under the age of 3.
AN EXTRA GEM: Besides free park admission for little ones aged 2 and under, my favorite perk is that they can eat at all-you-care-to-enjoy table service restaurants, like
The Crystal Palace. My own kiddos can’t eat enough of the character dining options because they can hang out with some of their favorite characters and eat a yummy meal at the same time.
I hope that your family has the most magical vacation, Min Jie! If you have any questions while planning, please don’t hesitate to
revisit us here at planDisney.
Magic always,
LeAndra
