I am planning a family trip in 2025, there will be about 30 of us. What are the qualifications for a group rate? Can we each book separately?

    Hello Christina,

Welcome you to planDisney! I'm so thrilled to hear about your group's great big, beautiful plans to vacation together at Walt Disney World Resort next year. I can't think of a better place to reconnect and celebrate the holiday season. Let's discuss!

I reached out to a Cast Member who indicated that groups require a minimum of 10 rooms. I'm not sure how many your travel party will fill, but I recommend contacting Group Reservations by phone to discuss your needs. They can answer any questions and advise whether the reservations can be booked individually and/or with multiple forms of payment.

If your family won't need 10 rooms you can have the lead guest for each room make the necessary reservations and ticket purchases online by searching the "Build Your Vacation" bar at the top of this screen. Though I can't guarantee everyone will get a room in the same area or building, it sure would be fun to stay at the same Disney Resorts Collection hotel together. Check out my recommendations for resorts by budget here. I also recommend keeping an eye on the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page to see if any offers match your travel dates. We likely won't see promotions for the end of 2025 any time soon, but it never hurts to check and take advantage of savings when applicable.

Once everyone has a place to sleep and park tickets assigned, be sure you connect the whole group via the Family & Friends list. This will allow you to coordinate advance dining reservations,  join Virtual Queues together, and select Lightning Lane return times for your group with the purchase of Disney Genie+ Service. I recently shared some helpful tips with another guest about navigating the parks with a larger party. Be sure to read my suggestions here and pass the tips along to the lead guests in the other resort rooms.

The holiday season is a wonderful time to visit Walt Disney World Resort even if a group rate or special offer doesn't match your particular needs. I love the incredible decor in the parks and resorts, the always impressive gingerbread displays, and of course, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park. I'm sure your group of merry magic makers will agree it's the most wonderful time of the year!

Christina, if we can offer recommendations or guidance as you begin making plans please don't hesitate to come back and let us know.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
