Welcome to planDisney, Elizabeth! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. A Thanksgiving week trip to Walt Disney World with your kids and grandkids sounds absolutely magical! It's such a wonderful time with all the festive decorations, special holiday treats, and that extra bit of pixie dust in the air that comes with
the holiday season.
All that being said, you're picking one of the most popular weeks of the year to be at Walt Disney World, and you'll be sharing space with lots of other guests. Outside of the week between Christmas and New Year's, Thanksgiving is one of the most popular times for families to visit. It is possible that, on some days, certain parks may reach capacity and a phased admission system may be put in place. That's why I recommend purchasing your tickets as soon as possible to make sure that your family has everything you need and you're ready to go. If you're planning on booking a
Disney Resort Hotel as well, I also recommend doing that immediately, since availability at resorts can go very quickly for big holiday weeks.
If you want to make the most of your time in the parks, I recommend arriving early, taking advantage of
Lightning Lane to save time waiting in line, and making use of
Mobile Ordering when you're planning your meals. There is so much fun to be had around the holidays, and I know you and your family are going to have a magical time this Thanksgiving!
