We are planning a family trip to Florida for the holidays this Christmas. We will be there from Dec 21 - Dec 28, but we cannot figure out where to purchase the tickets on the website. When are those dates available to purchase tickets?

    Hi!

    Welcome to planDisney!

Your early planning is commendable! You will be excited to know that you can purchase tickets now. Just head over to the park ticket link on the website, select your dates and the type of tickets you want. Think about how many days you plan to visit the theme parks and whether or not you really would use tickets with the Park Hopper® Option. When our girls were little, we typically just did the standard tickets because they were perfectly happy to stay in one park.

I also recommend a vacation package that includes a Disney Resorts Collection hotel and theme park tickets. If we are not using our Disney Vacation Club (DVC) membership, I always compare prices by checking the cost of the theme park tickets and resort hotels separately with that of a vacation package. We also have added a Disney Dining Plan in the past. Given the time of year you are traveling, I definitely hope you stay at a Disney resort. The holiday decorations are fantastic!

As you prepare for your trip, take a look at all of the activities happening during the Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort. My family's favorite holiday activity is the Candlelight Processional. We always do a Candlelight Processional Dining Package to get tickets to a show. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for a list of celebrity narrators. Here is a list of the narrators from last year.

Since you will be visiting during a busy time of year, I also suggest that you plan accordingly. We always head to the parks early to take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry for Disney Resort Hotel Guests and we stay late when there are Extended Evening Theme Park Hours for Disney resort hotel guest in deluxe, deluxe villa, or other select hotels. As it gets closer to the dates of your visit, check the park hours calendar to see theme park hours for the days of your visit.

We always check those theme park hours and make plans to visit each park on the days when we could get the most possible hours.  So, for example, we will visit a park starting with early theme park entry, do lunch in the park, head back to the resort hotel in the afternoon when the park crowds are more intense, and then go back to the park later to catch the fireworks and stay for the extended evening hours.

Keep up the practically perfect planning! If you need more assistance, feel free to call to speak with a cast member. Also be sure to download the My Disney Experience Mobile App. It will be your go-to resource during your trip!
