Planning our 3rd family trip to DW the end of Oct. 2012, DS will be 14 and DD will be 11. Suggestions on BW or POR. DH is 6'4" so we have to factor that in when thinking about beds. Really leaning towards the BW. What do you think?

    Hi Casey!

The Boardwalk is a Disney Deluxe Resort while Port Orleans Riverside is a Disney Moderate Resort.  Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite Moderate Resort, but it really can't compare in terms of services, amenities, and location to a Disney Deluxe Resort.

The Boardwalk has a great location on Crescent Lake, located between Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.  You can walk (though it's a long walk to the Studios) or take a boat to either theme park.  There are also a lot of restaurants in the area, such as the spectacular Yachtsman Steakhouse in the Yacht Club; of course, if you stay at the Boardwalk, you could also just go to World Showcase in Epcot each night for a fabulous meal!

That said, however, I personally prefer the Beach Club over the Boardwalk.  I think it's got a better layout (not as confusing) and it's slightly closer to Epcot.  Also, the pool at the Beach Club, Stormalong Bay, is the best pool on property and I think it's much better than the pool at the Boardwalk.  Just something for you to consider as you decide on what resort to stay in!
