Hi, we’re planning a family trip to Disneyland in June of 2020! My husband is 7’ tall, 84inches. So I’d like to know if there are any rides he won’t be able to ride because he’s too tall?

    Hey, howdy, hey, Demmi!

It's OK that not everyone can easily shrink down to the size of a toy. Just ask some of our taller friends at the Disneyland Resort, such as Groot and Chewbacca

None of the attractions at the Disneyland Resort have a specific maximum limit for the height or weight of guests. It's still important to have realistic expectations and ensure the safety of everyone while experiencing attractions. Cast Members operating the attractions will need to make sure that everyone is seated safely with seat belts or other restraints securely fastened before allowing a ride to proceed.

In most cases, you will be able to see the ride vehicles of attractions before entering the queue to get a sense of how well they will accommodate the members of your party. You may also ask for guidance from Cast Members at the entrance of any attraction that is of concern to you. My brother-in-law happens to be great in stature as well. He has been able to try all of the attractions at the theme parks, though he has indicated that a few attractions are tighter than he would prefer. While his family enjoys those attractions, he now chooses to experience other activities such as shopping or finding an iconic snack.

Here are some notes to consider about a few attractions:
    • Goofy's Sky School. Goofy may be one of the taller characters you can meet at the Disneyland Resort. But his aircraft used for training have very limited legroom for some guests.
    • Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. With a low ceiling clearance and somewhat tight seating areas, this attraction may be one to consider requesting the accessible experience in the Observation Outpost, which offers a spacious room to enjoy a live video feed of the excursion under the water.
    • Gadget's Go Coaster. Adults may ride this fun little coaster, designed by famed Rescue Ranger Gadget Hackwrench. But you may find it is better-suited to chipmunk-sized guests.
    • Mad Tea Party. Go ahead and go for a spin. But it may be easier if accompanied by a smaller guest or as a party of one in these lovely little teacups.

Tony's Tip: You will need to keep any belonging you may have with you on nearly all of the attractions. For me, that usually means setting my backpack at my feet in the ride vehicle. In a few cases that space can be a little tight. One example is Space Mountain. Consider handing larger bags or backpacks to members of your party that may have surplus room. Or take advantage of locker rentals available in both theme parks and outside the entrances of the parks.

I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort, Demmi. Please stop by the Disney Parks Moms Panel again if you have any more questions.
