We are planning our 1st family trip to Disney in June! Our kids are young and will still need to nap - any idea on how long it will take to get back to the hotel from the MK? Looking to stay at AoA (but still debating on staying off site).

Hi Christie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I love hearing that guests are starting to plan their first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! I have a lot of experience traveling to Disney with young kids and the best piece of advice I can give you is to stay on site. When you stay at a Disney Resort hotel there are a lot of amenities offered to guests that can really help to make your vacation easy. Disney’s Magical Express will transport you to and from the airport and even takes care of your luggage for you! This to us has been a huge perk. It means that as soon as I step off of that airplane my vacation begins. I don’t have to worry about finding my luggage and keeping my kids calm and happy! I just head right to the loading area and my chariot will take me away!

Complimentary Resort Transportation allows you to never have to get behind the wheel of a car! This service begins approximately 45 minutes prior to park opening until approximately one hour after a Theme Parks closing time. A bus will come approximately every 15-20 minutes for pick up’s and drop off’s during that time also efficiently transporting guests to and from their Resort hotel and Theme Parks. Once on board it takes approximately 15-25 minutes to move throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Please note that transportation times do depend on traffic and may vary.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is a really great family resort in my opinion! There are such great themes and my kids think that they have stepped in to a Disney Pixar movie! When I stay on site I get to sit back, relax, and let Disney take care of all of the work for me. It allows me much more quality family time and in this time I can make so many memories!
