Hello moms! I am planning a FAMILY trip, 10 adults 3 kids ages 4, 5, and 9. I need some suggestions on resorts!

    Hi Kaitlyn,

Wow, you are planning quite the family get together! My family has traveled with extended family on several occasions and getting to experience so many things together made the trip even more magical. Choosing your resort hotel is one of the first and most important steps in the planning process. Since I do not know your budget constraints, I will offer my personal favorites for each of the price levels: value, moderate and deluxe. Keep in mind that there could be major price differences between them, but as they price increases, so do the amenities offered and location convenience.

For the value resort, my top pick is Disney's Art of Animation Resort. Here you will find family suites that can accommodate up to 6 guests with a kitchenette. This could be very beneficial for your large group as the value of a family suite is often better than 2 separate rooms. These family suites have two separate bathrooms which also comes in handy with larger parties getting ready for the day. The resort is themed after several classic Disney films. The Big Blue Pool (main pool and splash area) is actually the largest on property, too, and lots of fun for kids and adults alike.

If deciding on a moderate resort, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside would be my suggestion. This resort has the charm of the deep south and is a bit more spread out and quiet, in my opinion. Some of the rooms can accommodate up to 5 guests with a small daybed, perfect for the 4 or 5 year old.

In the deluxe category, my recommendation would be Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This is my all-time favorite resort. It is close to the Magic Kingdom, but because it is not on the monorail line, it is often a little less in cost. It is themed after the National Park lodges in the pacific northwest. Whispering Canyon Cafe is one of my favorite dining locations, too. It is fun for the entire family!
