I was planning to take my family in January to Orlando. But with military salute tickets not being available until December. Im guessing we won't be able to get park reservations for the days we want. How are we supposed to schedule?

    Hi Tyler,

Thanks for dropping into planDisney with your questions about the 2026 military discounts dates. Thank you for your service and sacrifice to protect our nation. January  is one of my favorite times of year to visit. The Christmas season has just wrapped up, New Jersey is usually cold and snowing. So I take a trip that I usually plan on not planning at all. Lots of folks are recovering from the holidays and there are usually rooms available. Park reservations will be needed for non-date based tickets. That is usually the case with the Military Salute Tickets. Reservations will not be hard to come by in my experience for this time. The waiting game will be the hardest part to be honest. But things I do recommend leading up to these dates as you may want to think about where you may like to stay. You can always stay at Shades of Green which is a resort specifically for military members and their guests. The current military offers go through December 19, 2025. The new offers will be available shortly after, and that’s when you can start planning your family vacation if you intend to use those new military discounts.

If you stay at the Shades of Green Resort there are some awesome recreational options. If you wanted to try footgolf. Taking the family to play regular golf might not be the best idea unless they are avid golfers. But the whole crew can get into Foot golf. "The Greatest Green Ever Played" is adjacent to Magnolia, Palm, and Oak Trail Golf Courses. This giant putting green is available for all guests to play. You just have to have a putter and a ball. There are scorecards near the Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Deli. Grab a card and pencil and start at hole one. You will see they are all numbered 1-18 and have drink holder at each hole. Keep score and see who wins!

I hope this information helps you with your January family vacation planning. Visit us again anytime at planDisney.com

    Have a magical day,

    Jeremy A.
