Hello Majo,
Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for your question!
I have a secret to share (and then a confession) - you don't actually have to have a birthday to receive and wear the special birthday pins that can be obtained from places like
City Hall on Main Street U.S.A. In fact, I've picked them up for myself and others in groups I've visited with simply because we were there to celebrate birthdays even though they either already happened or were still a couple of weeks away!
I supposed you could even grab one to celebrate your Un-Birthday like the Mad Hatter in
Alice in Wonderland!
Therefore, I'd highly encourage you and your nephew to get your pins as soon as you arrive at the Disneyland Resort and wear them throughout your entire trip. Not only will you feel special with people - both Cast Members and Guests - wishing you both a happy birthday, but it always feels like there is extra Disney magic in celebrating milestones like this in the parks. You never know what could happen!
It looks like you'll be visiting during my absolute favorite time of year -
the Holiday season! There will be so many fun things to see, do, and eat during your trip. Make sure to ride through
"it's a small world" Holiday and see it all lit up at night! When my family and I visit, we also love catching the
Disney ¡Viva Navidad! street party in Disney California Adventure Park. Keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog over the next few months to see more details about all the holiday magic that will also come with that season this year.
Thanks again for your question, Majo! Happy (early) birthday and I hope you have a fantastic trip.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
