Ahoy Elizabeth!
Welcome to planDisney, where we strive to make all your planning WISHes come true! I say “Bravo” to your idea of cruising with a large group of family and friends...the more, the merrier! I can’t imagine a better place to have a vacation after the year we’ve all had than on a Disney voyage with Captain Mickey.
While Disney Cruise Line does not offer any group discount for large parties, it really is already an excellent value when you consider
all that is included in a Disney cruise. I’m talking about activities and entertainment, a boatload of food (literally), Youth Clubs, character interactions, and views for miles in exotic destinations, just to name a few.
Let me also mention the GTY (Guaranteed) reservation, which can sometimes be at a discount. These rates are not always available on all sailings, and they do have some restrictions involved. But it might prove to be a money saver in the long run. When you choose a GTY stateroom reservation, Disney Cruise Line guarantees that you will be assigned a stateroom equal to or better than that category level prior to your sailing. You could get sprinkled with pixie dust and receive an upgrade with a better stateroom category than you paid for. The tradeoff is that your stateroom number may not be assigned until a few weeks or days before you set sail.
Two things that your large group may want to coordinate are
stateroom arrangements and rotational dining. You may want to have more say in where your staterooms are located and to even select connecting staterooms so you can leave the door open between rooms to create a more spacious feel. Using the
Deck Plans and choosing your ship in the upper left-hand corner, you can go ahead and scope out which staterooms are connected.
Another key component to your group gathering at sea is dining together! With a few flicks of the magic wand, arrangements can be made for all of you to be seated together or in close proximity in the
rotational dining rooms. Not only will your dining team deliver superb service, they will also manage all your preferences as they rotate with your crew to each of the restaurants every night.
I highly recommend downloading the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. It’s an incredible tool for finding showtimes, dinner menus, activities, character greetings, and deck parties. With a large group, it’s also a helper in keeping your family connected throughout the day. Simply use the chat feature to communicate plans on activities you all might want to attend together and to keep tabs on all the kiddos who may be busy in the Youth Clubs.
“Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo” back to planDisney if we can help you navigate the cruise planning waters. Once you’ve set sail on your Disney cruise, I hope you will be able to say that the glass slipper fit and the DREAM that you wished came true!
Happy Sailing!
