I am planning my families 1st WDW vac in Sept 2012, and we are staying at the Cont, (figured with a 3 yr old the convenience of location and Chef Mickey were to good to pass up). Wondering any Advantages/Disadvantages to staying in the Garden Wing VS Tower

    Hi Jerre,

You're right; you can't beat the convenience of staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort while vacationing at Walt Disney World, particularly when you're traveling with a three-year-old.  Being just a short monorail ride or walk from the Magic Kingdom will be so convenient.  You're going to have a fabulous time!

The big advantages to staying in the tower of this resort are the view and the proximity to the monorail stop.  If you have a theme park view from the tower, you'll be able to see Wishes at night above Cinderella Castle.  It doesn't get much more magical than that!  Views of the sunrise above Bay Lake (on the other side of the tower) are pretty stunning too.  You'll have an up-close look at the watercraft on Bay Lake or the pool if you stay in the Garden Wing, but most guests prefer the views from the tower.  And, of course, if you're staying in the tower, you are extremely close to Chef Mickey's and the monorail stop.

Good luck making your decision!  I'm sure you'll be happy in either location.
