Hi Graham,
I would recommend any of the
Deluxe Villas over the
Cabins at Fort Wilderness.
My husband and I stayed in a Cabin last Fall with 4 of our children. As nice as they were, we found them to be very small. This was with only 2 adults, I can't imagine staying in one with 4 adults and 2 kids. The bedroom has bunk-beds and a double bed. In addition, the fold down "Murphy" style bed in the living room is double sized as well (smaller than a queen). Of course, the fact that my husband is 6 ft. 5 in. could be why I felt so squished in a double bed. ;)
The Villas offer a
lot of space. We've stayed in the 2 bedroom Villas numerous times. In most units, the master bedroom has a king sized bed and the second bedroom has 2 queens. There are some Villas that offer bunk beds in the second bedroom (you need to specifically request those).
Of all of the Villas, my favorite location is the Beach Club Villas. The location and close proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios is fantastic. You will get a similar location from Boardwalk Villas, however they don't have Stormalong Bay (the amazing pool at the Beach Club). I also really enjoy the Animal Kingdom Lodge because of the theme. Saratoga Springs is a great location in relation to Downtown Disney. Bay Lake Tower is very close to the Magic Kingdom, which is always a plus.
Hope this helps and that you have a wonderful vacation,
Kaylene
