Planning extra funds we will need for our June'14 trip, mainly tips. We have DDP and 2 parties. Some ADRs are together w/ total of 6. One of these is 2yrs. Will we have to pay the 18%tip when one in our party is sharing from our plate? Thanks Moms&Dads

    Hi Chris,

I just double checked with Disney Dining and yes, the 18% automatic gratuity is based on party size. Since there will be six of you at the table, the tip will be added to your bill. However, since only five of you are eating, the 18% will be based on your total bill (which will be five meals). Even during meals that your party size is smaller, the "suggested tip" will be calculated at the bottom of the bill for you. They will tally it to 18% and 20% for you to choose which you feel is appropriate based on the service that you receive. When planning how much money to bring for your vacation, you will want to factor in 18% tip for all meals, as that is the standard, customary tip when dining out.

I hope this helps and that you have a wonderful vacation. Please let me know if I can assist you further,
