We are planning an extended family vacation for this upcoming March. One group of us is staying at Art of Animation while the other prefers to be across the bridge at Pop Century. Can we walk over to visit each other at the other resort?

Hi there, Lori! Welcome back to planDisney.

I’m so excited to hear you’ve got a Walt Disney World Resort vacation coming up SUPER soon! You’re going to be right in the middle of the magic in just a few short weeks!

You had me at “extended family vacation,” Lori. Disney visits with the grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins are THE BEST and make for the most cherished memories. I have visited the Walt Disney World Resort with extended family and friends in lots of different living arrangements, and I have to say: you’re going to love this setup. You’re just a short (and fun) walk away from your favorite people, but also have a space of your own to relax and unwind. Perfection.

One of the best parts about staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is that they are connected. I love visiting other resorts – it’s so much fun to check out the theming (which is impeccable in both these resorts), explore the grounds, try new dining options, and shop in different hotels. When I stayed at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, I loved wandering over to the Landscape of Flavors food court, which has a diverse and delicious menu – and a smoothie bar! The only thing you’re not allowed to do is pool-hop – Guests may only use the pool at the resort at which they are registered Guests.

Having said all that, as part of Walt Disney World Resort’s phased reopening, visiting other resorts is currently discouraged for safety reasons. I called Guest Relations to check on your situation, and a Cast Member confirmed that, since these resorts are next-door neighbors, you are welcome to walk between the two and visit your family. Hurray!

Lori, I hope you have the most amazing time with your family this March! I recommend purchasing Memory Maker so you’re able to collect lots of photos of your family’s together time. Whether it’s on-ride photos, posed professional pictures of your group in front of Cinderella’s castle and other landmarks, or Magic Shots (in which a little pixie dust is sprinkled on your photos and characters or other fun make an appearance), you’ll treasure those special memories and look back again and again. It’s a must-buy for my family!

Thanks for stopping by, and please come back and see us if you think of any other questions as you plan and dream.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
