Hi! Planning Epcot for NYE. Heard they do a special Illuminations w/ extra fireworks at midnight. What is the best way to enjoy this? Normally we'd do an ADR at Rose and Crown. Is that an option on NYE? Would we have to stay there for hours? Any tips?

    Hello Nicole!

Walt Disney World Resort is an incredible place to ring in the New Year. What a way to begin a magical year!

While it is a crowded day to visit, the size of Epcot really seems to make the crowds more manageable. In the past, there has been two showings of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. The earlier show has included the Christmas addition while the midnight showing featured a New Year's finale. Along with this, there is normally a countdown timer displayed on Spaceship Earth. There have also been special New Year's Eve parties throughout World Showcase. Either the Rose & Crown Pub & Dining Room or La Hacienda de San Angel are my favorite places to dine and enjoy a prime view of the nighttime fireworks. It will be a bit harder to get a waterfront table, however, so make sure you make your reservation accordingly and show up a little earlier. It's also usually easier to get a spot for the earlier show, so you may want to consider that option.

I also recommend keeping an EAR on the Disney Parks Blog as usually sometime in November, they announce special Disney dining experiences offered on New Year's Eve. Last year, the Down in New Orleans: A Disney New Year’s Eve Experience at Disney's Contemporary Resort looked amazing.

Happy planning, Nicole, and please let us know if there is anything else we are able to assist you with. Have a wonderful vacation from all of us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
