Hi Angi,
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! In my opinion, you can't go wrong with either one of these Resort Hotels.
Disney's Beach Club Resort and
Disney's Yacht Club Resort are two of my favorite places to stay when vacationing at the Walt Disney World Resort and here's why:
• From either Resort Hotel, you can easily walk to both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios or take a Water Taxi if you prefer. You can also catch the Monorail to Magic Kingdom Park from Epcot, giving you access to 3 Theme Parks without needing to use Disney Bus Transportation.
• Their location is perfect for quick trips back to the Resort Hotel for a rest or pool break at Stormalong Bay. (which you'll need since you are visiting in July) The Resorts share access to Stormalong Bay. Your son will love the splashing away in the sand-bottomed pool, lounging in the lazy river, exploring a replica of a shipwreck, and swooshing down the 230 ft. long waterslide.
• Disney's BoardWalk is just a short walk away from both Resort Hotels and has some fabulous Restaurants as well as fun street performers in the evening.
• You can start your day with a Character Dining Experience at Cape May Cafe. You'll get to meet classic Disney Characters while enjoying a delicious "All-You-Care-To-Enjoy" breakfast buffet. It's one of my family's favorite places to dine before heading out for a day in the Theme Parks! Cape May Cafe is located at Disney's Beach Club Resort, but it's only a hop, skip, & a jump away from Disney's Yacht Club Resort.
All you have to do is decide whether you prefer a Nautical theme or a Beach theme! I hope your son enjoys his Birthday celebration!
Magical Wishes,
Susan
