I am planning a DW vacation in late April/early May with my husband a 6 year old daughter. This is my daughter's first visit and my firsrt visit in over 20 years. I am looking for an affordable yet awesome resort. Opinions on POR, Art of Animation, other

Hi Rene!  You must be so excited to be returning to such a magical vacation destination after 20 years and also to be introducing your daughter to such fun.

If your daughter is into the princesses then I do suggest the new princess royal rooms at Port Orleans Riverside. She will certainly feel special in those rooms where they have not forgotten any touch to make them as royal as possible. This resort is a great moderate and my top choice in that category.

The new Art of Animation family suites are, however, my choice for all families now. It is a value resort but the prices are a bit higher there then other values due to the suites.  These rooms will give you two full bathrooms which is a great amenity as well as a separate bedroom for mom and dad. This gives them the opportunity to watch tv into the late hours after your daughter has fallen asleep. The resort itself is fabulous with great themeing and a fun pool that might even talk to you when you are under water. The food court has had good reviews and it is on its own bus line so you are not sharing with other resorts. It is spread out but not anything you can't handle if your room is at a distance to the main lobby area. My choice is definitely booking the Art of Animation Family Suites!
