We're planning a DW trip. We wanted to try a new moderate resort(mostly stayed @CBR). We're from LA and don't know about PO. It seems like it would be just like home. I feel like going on vaca should be different than home? Should we try there or another?

    Hi Ashley!

Great minds think alike!  While Port Orleans French Quarter is absolutely fabulous, quaint and romantic... we are lucky enough to have the real thing in our own backyard!  To be perfectly honest, I never recommend PO French Quarter to people from the New Orleans area, simply because we see that theme everyday.  Although, in Disney, everything is MUCH cleaner and smells ohhhh so much better!

My family enjoys both sections of Port Orleans Riverside - I think that you might as well.  It has more of a Tom Sawyer/Huckleberry Finn, Old South feeling to it.  The pools are great and we LOVE the food court.  I'm not sure how many guests are traveling in your party, but the Alligator Bayou section will actually accommodate 5 people.  The Magnolia Bend section is complete with plantations and fountains, but it still really doesn't remind me of home at all.  We have truly always found it to be a great escape and I hope that you will as well!

    Much pixie dust,
