Planning my DS's 1st trip to DW for just before his 3rd bday in Sept/Oct '13 (early I know, but I've really been planning since before he was born!) I was wondering how much the EP Food and Wine Fest effects crowd levels. We want as few crowds as possible!

    Hi Merideth,

I imagine you and I would get along quite nicely; I love to plan things far in advance too!  I think September/October is a spectacular time to visit Walt Disney World with your son.  The lines for attractions are much shorter, on average, once the majority of children have returned to school in the fall.  Additionally, it's still warm enough to swim but not as hot as during the dog days of summer.  You've really picked a nice time for your son's first Disney adventure.

The International Food and Wine Festival does draw crowds to Epcot but you can largely avoid these crowds by visiting this theme park during the weekdays instead of the weekends.  You will also see less traffic if you visit World Showcase early in the day rather than in the evenings.  If you follow these suggestions, I think you'll find the crowds at Epcot quite reasonable in the fall.

Have fun planning your fall 2013 trip and let us know if you need anything along the way!
