Bright suns, Sonia! Thanks for bringing your great question to us here at planDisney, where you don't have to go to a galaxy far, far away to get the answers to all of your Disney vacation planning questions!
The experience at
Savi's Workshop in
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in
Disney's Hollywood Studios is like no other. The same is true for building a droid at the
Droid Depot. Each experience is unique and you get to create and take home your own customized souvenir. Each item is then tied to a memory you will always cherish. Every time you play with that droid, hold that lightsaber (or scrap metal as it is sometimes referred to when you're on the planet of Batuu), or just see them, you'll remember what it was like to build them, who you were with, and how it felt to first hold them in your hands. As Ahsoka Tano in
The Mandalorian once said, "I like firsts. Good or bad, they're always memorable." But don't worry, in this case, it's bound to be a good first!
There are
lockers available at Disney's Hollywood Studios at the front of the park that you can rent that will likely be able to fit the droid you've created. You'll just want to check if this is indeed the case before you rent the locker. However, it will not fit the case that it comes in nor will it fit your brand-new lightsaber. You can usually purchase a special backpack for your droid to easily carry around with you and since it interacts with the land, you may want to keep it with you anyway. You also should receive a carrying case for your lightsaber to make it easier to carry around. At this time, package delivery to the front of the park or to your
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room is unavailable.
My top tip if you don't want to carry around these items is to schedule your builds later on in the day so that you can simply carry them back to your hotel room with you. If you're interested in this option, you can keep checking the reservation pages to see if any availability opens up later on in the day to reschedule. But for me, having these items with me as I explore the Blackspire Outpost really elevates the experience and makes me feel even more immersed in the story going on all around me.
Sonia, make sure you try some of the otherworldly
Blue and Green Milks at the
Milk Stand and if you love a great cold brew coffee, don't miss the
Cold Brew Black Caf at
Kat Saka's Kettle. Just make sure to stir that last one before your first sip!
If you have any other questions,
please reach out.
'Til the spire,
Matt
