I am planning on doing the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February 2013. We are DVC members, and I can use points, but I was wondering if you know if there are typically package savings for registered runners.

Hi Tara!  The Princess Half Marathon is a fantastic race!  You will love it!
I can tell you that they offer special room rates and theme park ticket rates to runners.  They are even offering Disney Dining Plan packages to runners at this year's Wine and Dine half marathon.  This may be something that they start to do for all races.  When you register for your race, you will get a link with a password to order the theme park tickets.  The room and dining packages are reserved by calling a special number for runners.
Another thing to keep in mind is that each race has a set of "host resorts".  These resorts will be the only ones that offer free bus transportation to and from the Wide World of Sports for packet pick-up and also to and from the race on race days.  This is extremely beneficial.  Traffic on race mornings can be pretty rough.  You will find the list of host resorts on the Princess Half Marathon webpage as soon as they update it with next year's race information.  There are usually some DVC resorts on the list, but you will definitely want to choose a host resort if possible.
    I hope this helps!
