I am planning on doing a Disney Dining Plan. Do I need to purchase the plan before making reservations 180 days out?

Hi Jennifer! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I am always happy to hear that someone is planning to snag their Advance Dining Reservations 180 days prior to their trip! It is so nice to have those in place, so you don't have to worry about finding availability at a restaurant while you are busy enjoying your vacation.

You do not have to purchase a dining plan prior to making your dining reservations 180 days in advance. Any Guests to the Walt Disney World Resort are able to make their reservations this far in advance, and Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel can make all of their reservations for their entire trip (up to 10 days) 180 days prior to their check-in date. This really helps when grabbing those hard-to-get dining reservations!

You are free to add the dining plan to your Walt Disney World Resort vacation package before or after making your dining reservations. It's an easy process and will not disrupt any of your previously made reservations.

Enjoy planning your trip, Jennifer! Please visit us again with any other questions you may have!
