Hi Paul,
Welcome to planDisney. As Walt said, “To all who come to this happy place: Welcome. Disneyland is your land.” I can not imagine a better way to end a family vacation than at “The Happiest Place on Earth!” This will be a real treat for your family.
As you can imagine, the Disneyland Resort is jammed packed with things to do and see. You can access a
park map online and on the Disneyland mobile app. If you are online, check under the tab “Things to Do” and scroll down to “Activities and Entertainment.” You can see a map of both Disneyland and California Adventure. The map also includes the Downtown Disney area and the three resorts on site; the Disneyland Hotel, The Grand Californian Hotel, and Pixar Place.
During your family's trip, California Adventure will be hosting the
Food & Wine Festival. If your family loves food the way Winnie the Pooh loves honey, then you are in luck! I love to sample as much as I can at this festival and the drinks (both alcoholic and kid friendly) are scrumptious. My favorite item was the garlic mac and cheese at a booth called “Garlic Kissed;” I hope they bring it back this year! Be sure to also check out the
Soarin’ Over California, a limited time overlay of the traditional Soarin’ Around the World. As a native of Southern California, I have a soft spot in my heart for this version of the ride.
Festival Tip: You can order your food from any booth, so don’t use up your precious time waiting in line at each booth. Order all your food from one booth and then present your receipt at each pick up window like a pro! Keep an eye out on the
Disney Parks Blog for this year's Festival menu.
I hope this was helpful information, Paul. If you have any other questions as you are planning this magical trip, please feel free to write back to me or my fellow panelist, and we would be happy to share our thoughts. .
Wishing you a magical trip!
