Hello! I am planning a Disneyland trip for my family this coming November, for 5 people (4 adults and 1 16 year old). Does everyone need their own Disneyland app and account for the tickets, or what? How do we set this up for everyone?

    Hi Rick,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney. I am happy to help you navigate linking your tickets. First off, three cheers to you for taking on the important task of planning your family’s Disneyland trip.  With great power comes great responsibility. Lucky for you linking tickets will not be as difficult as defeating a swarm of spider-bots.

Everyone in your group does not need their own Disneyland app. So if you want to take the lead group when your family arrives, you can link everyone’s ticket to your Disneyland app and account. Having one person manage the tickets is the simplest way to get through your trip. With all tickets linked to one account, you can scan your entire family into the park. You can even make Lightning Lane and dining reservations all from one device.

I am happy to provide some guidance on how you link tickets to your account. After completing your purchase,  you will receive an email with your Disney eTickets. Don’t be alarmed if you don’t get an email immediately. Each Disney eTicket will have a unique code you will use to link to your account. Open up the Disneyland mobile app and select the three stacked lines near the bottom right of the screen. You should then see a box called “My Tickets & Passes.” Tap the “+” symbol in the upper right corner and use the “Link Tickets & Passes” button to add the ticket. You can either scan each Disney eTicket or enter each code manually.

Planning Tip:  You can make a dining reservation 60 days in advance. Be sure to set an alarm to remind yourself! Places like Blue Bayou and Carthay Circle can book up fast!

I hope this information is helpful, Rick. Please feel free to write back to me or my fellow panelist if you have any more questions.

Wishing you a magical trip and the best of luck!
