Hi there, Debora!
A warm welcome to planDisney and thank you for stopping by with your question about your Disneyland Resort
theme park tickets. It's so kind of you to want to
share your theme park tickets with a friend or family member, Debora! Who wouldn't be thrilled to be gifted a visit to
The Happiest Place on Earth!? I'm happy to help you explore your options for using or gifting your tickets.
Debora, even if you aren't able to travel during the dates that you had originally planned, did you know that you may still be able to utilize your theme park tickets even past their expiration date? According to the Disneyland Resort
eTicket Terms and Conditions, the value of a wholly unused, expired theme park ticket can be applied to the purchase of a new, unexpired ticket! That means that even if your tickets aren't used by their expiration date, you'll still be able to apply their value toward new tickets. (In this case, you'll be responsible for any difference in price between the value of your original tickets and the new tickets.) To complete this transaction, just get in touch with the friendly Cast Members at the
Tickets phone line for assistance! Also, if you choose to go this route, once you've secured theme park tickets valid for your new dates, don't forget to make
theme park reservations for the date you intend to visit.
If you'd rather share your theme park tickets with another friend or family member instead, Hakuna Matata - it means "no worries!" Disneyland Resort theme park tickets aren't actually linked to specific individuals until they are scanned at a theme park main entrance during their first use. Once the ticket is scanned, a helpful Cast Member at the turnstiles will take the ticket user's photo for identification purposes, and the ticket will officially be linked to that individual. Therefore, your tickets don't necessarily need to be reassigned in advance in order for someone else to use them. However, if you prefer, you could reach out to the Tickets phone line for assistance in changing the name on a ticket ahead of their intended use and making theme park reservations for the tickets. Just have the ticket confirmation handy and linked to your Disney account in the
Disneyland Resort mobile app ahead of time, if possible. Finally, make sure the ticket recipient brings photo identification with them when they head to the theme parks!
Debora, I hope this information is helpful to you! I'm wishing you (or whoever receives your tickets) a very magical visit to the Disneyland Resort. If you have any additional planning questions, please feel free to stop back by planDisney again anytime - we're all ears!
See ya real soon,
Lauren
